Ohio State is set to be well-represented in the NFL draft next month, and it has a shot at challenging the record for the most draft picks taken from one school in a season.

The Buckeyes had 15 players at the NFL Scouting Combine, which is how many Georgia drafted in 2022.

Ohio State was fourth ate a bunch of draft-eligible players returned for an extra season and it paid off with a National Championship. One player who returned was WR Emeka Egbuka and he raised his draft stock in the process.

Emeka Egbuka lands in the best spot for his NFL career in the latest 2025 NFL mock draft

Egbuka is expected to be a first-round pick by most, though there is a chance he could slide into the second round of the draft. In the latest mock draft here at A to Z Sports, Egbuka lands with the Kansas City Chiefs with the 31st pick in the draft.

“The Chiefs have tried a lot of WRs over the years but need more quality at the position. Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice seem to be a part of the team's long-term plans, and they resigned Hollywood Brown for the short term. Ohio State's Emeka Egbuka is a highly intelligent player who was a significant part of the Buckeye's national championship in 2024. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have had an elite connection for quite some time, but Kelce's time in the NFL is clearly coming to an end very soon. Egbuka's ability when a play breaks down makes him an intriguing option to help soften that blow whenever it comes.” — Destin Adams, A to Z Sports

Egbuka had a super productive career in Columbus but his junior season was hampered by injury and he only put up 515 yards in 10 games. Egbuka bounced back with 1,011 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2024. No one caught more passes in Ohio State history than the 205 catches that Egbuka made. With the amount of wideouts that Ohio State has put out, that is an impressive feat.

Going to thrive in the slot for an Andy Reid offense with Patrick Mahomes throwing him the ball would be great for Egbuka. The former five-star recruit has the ability to be a security blanket and there is no worry of off-field issues with him. Egbuka is a strong blocker, has run-after-the-catch ability, and is a terrific route runner.

In 2022 as a sophomore, Egbuka burst onto the scene with 1,151 yards and 10 touchdowns. Egbuka and OT Josh Simmons are expected to be the first two Buckeyes taken in the draft.

The NFL draft will run from April 24-26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin and it will be a day where a boatload of Buckeyes move onto their professional careers.
