2026 top-50 recruit Victor Singleton committed to the Illinois Fighting Illini just three weeks ago, but the flip efforts from Michigan and other Big Ten rivals aren't slowing down. The Toledo, Ohio, native is a solid 4-star prospect who Brett Bielema could use as a headlining piece for next year's recruiting class.

However, Singleton was spotted at practice sporting a Michigan backpack. With Ohio State earning a crystal ball prediction from 247Sports, Singleton is clearly keeping his options open.

The 6-foot, 165-pounder is the top-rated player that Bielema has signed at Illinois. With the Illini coming off its first 10-win season in more than 20 years, this is the momentum that can quickly build.

“Illinois football right now is hopefully on the verge of doing something really special,” Bielema told KDSK in St. Louis last week.

However, the Wolverines and Buckeyes don't seem to be going anywhere in the fight. With both blue blood programs reaching powerhouse status in recent years, guys like Singleton will either be looking to join the frontrunners or carve out his own legacy.
