The long trek towards college football returning is filled with little dopamine hits of varying meaning. The first time that Ducks fans will have an opportunity to see how the roster will look in the 2025 season, with tons of last year's starters on offense and defense having departed for the NFL, will be the Spring Game.
Oregon has announced their date for the event, which will be on Saturday, April 26th, at 1 PM PT at Autzen Stadium, and the game will air on the Big Ten Network.
This game is the first step in evaluating the new roster, which will feature change at a ton of positions. Oregon is set for a change at quarterback, with Dante Moore the presumed favorite to earn the job. They'll have a new starting running back in Tulane transfer Makhi Hughes, along with a pair of new offensive linemen.
There isn't a position group on the roster that won't be different in some way, from the secondary to defensive line, wide receivers to tight ends. Every group will have serious turnover, but none more than the secondary, which will have five new starters between the safeties and cornerbacks.
That's not to say there's a lack of talent, but it will certainly be different. The coaching staff will utilize the Spring Game as one of the first major moments to analyze the talent on the roster. It's an opportunity for the players to begin making their marks on the coaches in an effort to earning significant playing time.
The Spring Game will be open to the public, and in years past, the team has requested canned food donations as an entrance fee, although they are not required. Ducks fans will be eager to see how the team recovers from their Rose Bowl collapse against Ohio State.
Oregon Ducks fans of a certain age are going to feel really old when they see what player is getting recruited by Bill Belichick
Is Bill Belichick “father time”?
