Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are firmly back in the mix to potentially land five-star quarterback Jared Curtis.
According to On3's Hayes Fawcett, the No. 1 ranked quarterback in the Class of 2026 has narrowed his decision down to six schools– the Dawgs of course being one of them.
Curtis had originally committed to Georgia, but chose to explore other options in October.
The other schools Curtis is considering include, Auburn, Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, and South Carolina.
This news comes right after Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo visited Curtis at his home last week where they watched Notre Dame and Penn State face off in the Orange Bowl.
Curtis, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound rising senior, led his Nashville high school football team to a 13-1 record and a state title after completing 70 percent of his passes for 2,830 yards with 40 touchdowns and three interceptions during the regular season. He also added another 637 yards and 18 scores on the ground. Curtis was named the 2024 Gatorade Tennessee Football Player of the Year for his outstanding efforts.
Curtis told On3 he plans to make his final decision once he wraps up official visits with the six schools.
“I will wait until official visits to make my decision,” Curtis said. “I will get out more. When official visits open up, I will get down on some visits, see the school and see what I like about it.
“The factors when I make a decision will be the coaching staff, my relationship with the coaching staff and the class they bring in this year. Those and the class I would bring in with me would be the biggest things.”
Hopefully, coach Smart and Bobo, along with the rest of their recruiting staff, can reel Curtis back in between now and then.
