The college football season has come and gone rather quickly and we are just days away from the National Championship.
Two of the biggest brands are set to battle it out in Atlanta, Georgia on Jan. 20. Ohio State and Notre Dame are the two final teams standing and both have taken care of business with three wins in the College Football Playoff.
Ahead of the big game, former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer is calling his shot on what is going to happen in this one.
"Ohio State covers the spread," Meyer said, Via The Triple Option podcast. "I think Notre Dame’s defense is going to keep this thing close. I think this is a low-scoring game at halftime and I think the Buckeyes walk away in the second half."
Ohio State is currently an -8 favorite to win it all against Notre Dame, according to ESPN Bet. So, Meyer not only believes the Buckeyes will win, but has them covering that spread as well. The opening line on the game was -9.5.
The Buckeyes have beaten Tennessee, Oregon, and Texas to get to this point. Ohio State easily had the toughest path in the College Football Playoff and debating that would be silly. Still, the Buckeyes are playing a complete game right now on both sides of the football and that is what has them in position to win it all.
Notre Dame started their College Football Playoff run with a win over Indiana, before taking down Georgia without Carson Beck. The Fighting Irish narrowly escaped Penn State to move on to the final game.
There is no shortage of storylines in this one and one that stands out is that Marcus Freeman played his college ball as a Buckeye.
We are just six days away from the big game and the countdown is on.
