The time of celebrating the National Championship is over in Columbus and Ohio State has major coaching staff decisions to figure out.
Ohio State has to replace DC Jim Knowles who took a job at Penn State, and OC Chip Kelly after he left for the NFL.
Lost in the mix that Kelly was leaving for the NFL yesterday was that Ohio State was losing another member of its staff.
LaAllan Clark is leaving Columbus to join the Texas Longhorns and become the outside linebackers coach with them. Clark was a graduate assistant who coached the defensive line for the Buckeyes over the last two seasons. Clark worked alongside Larry Johnson with the rushers up front.
Prior to coming to Columbus, Clark was with Prairie View A&M and before that, he trained the NFL defensive linemen. It is notable that Ohio State transfer DT Hero Kanu just transferred to Texas last week. Clark will not work with him directly, but he will be on that side of the ball. Clark will go to Texas and work with talented outside linebackers like Colin Simmons and Trey Moore.
Clark took to X (Twitter) to thank the Buckeyes for the last two seasons. He wrote, “Thank You Ohio State For These Past 2 Years & All The Relationships That Were Made!! Thankful God Gave Me A Chance To Become A Buckeye!! #NationalChampion“.
Texas will play in Columbus on Aug. 30 to begin the 2025 season and it will be a rematch of the Cotton Bowl. When that game happens, it will be a return for Clark. Coaching turnover happens when you are winning and Ohio State did a lot of that in 2024.
Former Ohio State QB Kyle McCord gives strong statement about Emeka Egbuka that Buckeye Nation should agree with
Egbuka was a big time player for a few years.
