After not having a great start to the recruiting process for the 2024 class, head coach Billy Napier got things going hard in November with the success of quarterback DJ Lagway being the catalyst.
They flipped multiple four-star recruits in the weeks leading up to early signing day and got a huge flip with five-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson signing after he ended up getting released from his financial aid paperwork with Oregon.
Florida Gators dominate in-state recruiting
There are a lot of things which the Gators have done to sure up the recruiting process with the biggest one being their on-field play has shown significant growth over the last five games.
The other major move for the Gators was making in-state recruiting a focus. They ended the early signing period with the 11th-ranked recruiting class along with having five of the top 10 in-state recruits.
There are two things that are very impressive about this list:
- Both Miami FL and Florida State don't have a single commit in the top 10
- The Gators nearly landed D.J. Pickett, Jaime Ffrench and Solomon Thomas
You can't win every recruiting battle, but just being in contention for those players is a huge win for the Gators, as they continue to rebuild the program back into the blue-blood status they had throughout the 1990s and 2000s.
