Over the past week, the Oklahoma Sooners have already lost a fair number of players to the transfer portal. This has caused some mild anguish, with some promising players and veterans departing for other schools.
Where some see , others see opportunity. One of those others was linebacker Jaren Kanak, who seized the opportunity to strike with a hilarious troll post about the transfer portal.
Kanak, a former four-star recruit and a valued piece of Brent Venables' first recruiting class with the Sooners, would have been another blow to a linebacking room that had already lost Dasan McCullough to the portal.
Sensing that, Kanak struck and delivered a hilarious message.
His teammate Danny Stutsman tagged in with him to further troll fans online.
Stutsman's message is a common one teammates will send to one another when one hits the portal, further inciting the panic an Oklahoma fan might have as soon as they see the graphic.
This was a well-done joke that hopefully added some positivity to Oklahoma fans after repeated portal announcements seemingly every day.
What Sooners have entered the transfer portal?
Here is the list so far of every Sooner to enter the transfer portal this offseason, in no particular order:
- QB Jackson Arnold
- WR Nic Anderson
- RB Kalib Hicks
- RB Emeka Megwa
- LB Dasan McCullough
- DB Jayden Rowe
- TE Bauer Sharp
- C Josh Bates
- OL Geirean Hatchett
- S Erik McCarty
- CB Makari Vickers
- CB Kani Walker
- WR JJ Hester
- WR Jalil Farooq
- WR Jaqauize Pettaway
- WR Andrel Anthony
- RB Chapman McKown
- OL Ty Kubicek
- OL Evan McClure
- OL Kenny Wermy
So far, there's not been any portal departure that I would be too broken up about, knowing the roster. Arnold actively cost the team games, Anderson, Anthony, and Farooq battled too many injuries, Walker was picked on often, Sharp was featured way too often for a lackluster playmaker, and Dasan McCullough simply got buried behind the other younger (and perhaps cheaper) linebackers Oklahoma already has.
That hasn't stopped the panicking from Sooners' fans online, however, which makes Kanak's post even funnier. It hit at the perfect time.
