December brings more NFL Draft discussion, and Ohio State will be represented at the 2025 Reese's Senior Bowl. It's expected their senior-laden roster will have several representatives at the Senior Bowl and the East-West Shrine Bowl.
On Wednesday, it was confirmed that Buckeyes quarterback Will Howard will be at the Senior Bowl.
Howard has boosted his NFL draft prospects during his fifth year of college football, with a completion rate of 72.3% on his passes, which would set a school record at Ohio State if it holds until the season's end. He has thrown for 2,860 yards and has recorded 27 touchdowns along with eight interceptions.
Despite coming off his toughest game as a Buckeye against Michigan, where he completed only 19 of 33 passes for 175 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions, he has a chance to improve his draft status at the Senior Bowl. Howard will become the first Ohio State quarterback to participate in the Senior Bowl since Troy Smith in 2007.
However, before that, Howard has an even greater opportunity to enhance his NFL draft stock by leading Ohio State on a deep run in the College Football Playoff, which is his main focus after the Buckeyes' disappointing loss to the Wolverines.
“We can still run the table and win a national championship. I think, at the end of the day, that's what we have to focus on. And that's got to keep us going because this one hurts like hell,” Howard said after Ohio State’s loss on Saturday.
Howard was projected to be a sixth-round pick in our latest 7-round 2025 NFL mock draft.
