Ohio State had a couple of big worries in their 2025 recruiting class when it came to players flipping elsewhere and one just happened.

The Buckeyes have lost five-star Na’eem Offord and his new destination is one that is going to make it sting for a bit. Offord has flipped to Oregon during the early signing period and will be a Duck.

All of the momentum had been for the Birmingham, Alabama native Offord to possibly flip to Auburn. Oregon was always in the mix here and they won in the end. Offord took his official visit to Oregon when the Buckeyes played in Eugene. While being committed to Ohio State, Offord was on the sideline of Oregon.

Ohio State still has a five-star cornerback committed and 24 recruits overall. Devin Sanchez is one of the most prized recruits for the Buckeyes and the talented cornerback signed this morning to continue his college career in Columbus.

Offord is not the only loss that the Buckeyes have taken to Oregon this cycle. Cornerback Dorian Brew was once a heavy lean to Ohio State and Oregon came into Ohio and got five-star safety Trey McNutt. Just a bad year for the Buckeyes against Oregon, who defeated Ohio State 32-31 in October.

Oregon will play for a Big Ten Championship this weekend against Penn State with Ohio State watching from home. There is a chance the two teams play in the College Football Playoff. If they do, Ohio State’s coaching staff can use this recruiting loss as some extra motivation perhaps, not that it is needed at this stage.

The early signing period will run through Friday, where college programs can sign seniors from high school. A few recruits will wait until the actual signing period down the road to make their decision.
