The LSU Tigers didn't have a great couple of weeks on the recruiting trail.

Things started off poorly when five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, the number one recruit in the class, flipped from LSU to Michigan. Then, the day before signing day, they lost five-star cornerback Kade Phillips to Texas.

Those moves ended up dropping the Tigers from third to ninth in On3's recruiting rankings and it didn't get better when five-star defensive lineman Jahkeep Stewart spurned Brian Kelly and committed to USC.

They did end up getting a huge win on Wednesday when they did land a five-star recruit in offensive lineman Solomon Thomas, who flipped from Florida State.

Thomas received a Crystal Ball on Tuesday night to go to the Florida Gators but that shortly turned into a prediction from On3 Sports. His recruitment had a wild finish and it was a massive win for Kelly and the Tigers.

His commitment brought the Tigers up to eighth in the On3 recruiting rankings and he is their third five-star of the cycle. It might not have been a great cycle for the Tigers, but it ended on a positive note.
