The 2024 Iron Bowl will directly impact the College Football Playoff. The No. 13 Alabama Crimson Tide needs some help to get into the final tournament of the year, but winning against Auburn will go a long way. The Tide leads the all-time series 50-37-1, but anything can happen on Saturday.
While Auburn has projected confidence, and probably more than they should, the Iron Bowl rarely lets us down. It's rivalry week, and there's a ton on the line, even as Auburn is more focused on bringing in an epic 2025 recruiting class than anything this postseason.
The Tide and quarterback Jalen Milroe are playing for a lot. Milroe has to prove he should enter the 2025 NFL Draft, transfer from Alabama, or return to campus. There's a ton on the line.

Alabama 21, Auburn 17
The Crimson Tide is coming off an ugly performance against Oklahoma and really needs to get back on track. The offense will be challenged against an Auburn defense with a lot of next-level talent, particularly up front.
The major difference will be the Tiger offense, which hasn’t been anything close to consistent this season. Jalen Milroe does enough to sneak out a victory in an electric environment. – Ryan Roberts
Alabama 35, Auburn 10
Alabama may have to kiss their chances at the CFP goodbye, but this week’s game is still a must-win. Kalen DeBoer and the rest of his staff will learn real fast that a loss in the Iron Bowl is more intolerable than any other tally in the L column.
Coming off what was frankly an embarrassing performance against Oklahoma, the Tigers are in for a motivated Tide and a group of players looking to end a rather disappointing season on a high note.
Auburn 24, Alabama 23
Yeah, buddy. Let's have some fun with this prediction. The Tigers have been on fire off the field lately, nabbing some premium talent from Ohio State and other surrounding schools. While Alabama is a better team, I don't think they're drastically more talented or well-coached. They're ripe for an upset.
Payton Thorne and Jarquez Hunter must avoid mistakes as they have over the last couple of games. If they do, Thorne has been more effective when targeting downfield targets than he was at the start of the fall slate. Alabama, down Keon Sabb and lacking impact defenders, might not be able to shut them down completely.
Milroe could go nuclear, but what's to say he will after several letdown performances already this season?
