It's almost awards season; December is only a few weeks away. The college football season has been tremendous, bringing forth incredible years for Ashton Jeanty, Dillon Gabriel, Travis Hunter, and others. This week, former Ohio State and Florida head coach Urban Meyer identified who he'd pick to win the Heisman Trophy.

Meyer went even further, saying that after digging into this individual's personality, he'd take this player No. 1 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. Watch below as Meyer breaks down Hunter's game.

Hunter is well on his way to earning his second All-American spot, leading the Big 12 in receptions (60), receiving touchdowns (8), and pass deflections (7). The two-way star has produced incredible buzz for his durability and ability to impact the Colorado Buffaloes as a full-time corner and receiver. The hype has been justified.

Already eclipsing his 2023 offensive stats despite playing in one less game so far, Hunter just became the first Big 12 player to win Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week in the same week. That had never been done in their 30-year history.

Meyer explained that he loves Hunter's personality, calling him a "dawg" after doing research about his work ethic. He loves how Hunter studies the game, cares for himself, and conducts himself as a collegiate athlete. It's noticeable how Hunter takes on blocks and tackles despite being such a star.

Nominating Hunter as the best player in college football and his choice for the top pick in next year's draft is not a hollow endorsement. While Meyer has his demons, his eye for talent and experience around the game is hard to brush aside.

Hunter is also my pick for Heisman, but we have him a little further down the draft board on our 2025 NFL Big Board.
