The Georgia Bulldogs could really use wide receiver Colbie Young back in their lineup, however, it doesn't sound like it will happen as fast as fans want it to.
As the Dawgs get ready to face Tennessee at home Between the Heges, head coach Kirby Smart provided a status update on Young and where things stand now that his ex-girlfriend has asked all charges be dropped.
"The legal process has got to play itself out," Smart said. "Look, we want to support Colbie where we can. We continue to provide him with access to our facilities and the support resources we have, whether that's Rankin [M. Smith, Sr. Student-Athlete Academic Center], the training room, mental health, weight room. But the legal process has to play itself out before we can do anything."
Young was arrested back on Oct. 8 on misdemeanor charges of assault on an unborn child and battery.
His first court appearance is currently scheduled for Dec. 10.
The senior transfer from Miami has played in five games for Georgia this season, logging 11 catches for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Georgia does not have a star pass catcher in their wide receiver room so Young's presence would give them a major boost whenever he does return.
It sounds like Young is working out with a trainer and getting his mental health right until then.
