The Oregon Ducks are preparing for a road trip to Wisconsin this weekend. Oregon head coach Dan Lanning apparently thought a question asked in his latest media availability was maybe looking for just a little too much information.

Lanning was asked if there's anything in particular about Wisconsin that he thinks they can exploit. "You want me to tell you our game plan, is that what you're saying?" was his response with a coy smile. "Like 'hey, this is how we're going to attack them'? I'm not telling you that."

Fair enough, coach. You wouldn't expect them to lay their game plan out there publicly before their game.

On the other hand, we can speculate. The Badgers are 5-4, and on offense, they're stronger on the ground than they are through the air. The team averages a healthy 174.0 rushing yards per game, led by running back Tawee Walker, who has had some big games this season. Walker, though, has struggled in their last two games against tougher competition, averaging only 2.7 yards per carry against Penn State and 3.3 yards per carry against Iowa. He hasn't stopped 59 rushing yards since October 19.

On defense, the Badgers are exactly the opposite, showing much more ability against the pass than the run. Opponents tend to run the ball against them since their pass defense is so stout, skewing the stats a bit. But their pass defense is holding opponents to only 164.5 passing yards per game, which is eighth-best in the country.

Like always, this game is going to be about controlling the line of scrimmage. Stop the run on defense, dominate the trenches, get after the quarterback, and set the tone with your own run game, forcing the Wisconsin defense into uncomfortable situations. Dominate the line of scrimmage, and dominate the game.
