The USC Trojans have some of the best history ever when it comes to college football. Now, of course, it's been a while since we have been able to really talk about anything historical with this school, but they truly do have a prestigious football program in Los Angeles.
And, with that comes all of the National Championships, the Heisman winners, and superstar football players we have grown to love over the year, who all impacted the game at such a high level, like Reggie Bush, Caleb Williams, and of course, who could forget Matt Leinart, one of the best college quarterbacks to ever play.
Leinart knows the game, and he especially knows the quarterback position. His career in the NFL wasn't what he quite wanted it to be, and I'm sure he would tell you that, but he loves football and he knows it as well as anyone. And, he shows that on FOX, where he is a part of Big Noon Kickoff every week.
Now, he is in the news a bit. Well, his son is. Remember when we were all watching Leinart growing up? Or maybe you weren't "growing up" per se, maybe you were grown. Either way, you're going to feel old when you hear this next part.
Leinart's son just committed to one of the rising college football programs in the country.
According to On3, Cole Leinart, the son of Matt Leinart, and 2026 QB, has committed to SMU, where he will play for the Mustangs in Dallas, Texas.
When the news was announced, of course, Leinart had to tweet out that he was a proud dad. It's super cool to see a guy we all loved to watch play and have his son join the college football world soon for a school that is truly on the rise.
And, from the looks of it, his son could be pretty good, too. Rhett Lashlee is running a great program down there in Texas.
