Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss just keep on winning. First they destroy Georgia 28-10 on Saturday. Then Kiffin adds a star playmaker for the 2026 recruiting class on Monday. And now he's done it again on the recruiting trail by flipping an elite five star wide receiver recruit from Kalen DeBoer and Alabama who can step into the Tre Harris role as soon as next season.
Caleb Cunningham the number one recruit in the entire state of Mississippi and a five star wide receiver announced on Wednesday that he is flipping his commitment from Alabama to Ole Miss (per multiple sources). This is a huge, huge acquisition for Ole Miss.
Caleb Cunningham had just visited the Ole Miss Rebels this past weekend for the epic thrashing of Kirby Smart's Georgia Bulldogs and that clearly left an impression. Rumblings of his potential flip started circulating as early as Sunday morning following the game, but Cunningham made it official on Wednesday. He'll be joining Lane Kiffin and company as the Rebels program continues to build momentum.
Cunningham has widely been considered a consensus five star talent for over two years now, and currently ranks inside the Top 20 players overall in the 2025 recruiting class. He's not only an elite wide receiver, but he's one of the best basketball players in the state of Mississippi and he runs track as well. Cunningham's explosive athleticism should settle in immediately at Ole Miss as he'll likely be a day one starter for the Rebels in 2025.
When asked about the newfound recruiting momentum on Wednesday during the SEC Weekly Media Teleconference Lane Kiffin spoke to how special some of his electric young playmakers have shown to be. He spoke specifically of the young phenom quarterback Austin Simmons who came in and led a pivotal early scoring drive against Georgia on Saturday. There's just obviously an excitement surrounding the program driven by elite level player development that recruits can believe in.
This type of win on the recruiting trail indicates that Ole Miss might be headed for the best chapter of their college football program's history. The Rebels now rank 16th among all FBS programs in 2025 high school recruiting and the portal king Lane Kiffin is sure to bring in his fourth consecutive top three transfer class as well. Ole Miss fans should expect many more special seasons on the field to come if wins like this off the field continue.
