The Senior Bowl, the premier event in the NFL Draft scouting circuit each year, takes place down in Mobile, Alabama. The first wave of invites have been sent out, and one of the top stars on the Oregon Ducks offense is one of the first confirmed players to accept his invite.

Ducks' leading wide receiver, Tez Johnson, is in. He's the first wide receiver to accept his invite for January's event.

The biggest hurdle for Johnson as he aims to fulfill his dream of playing in the NFL is going to be his size, listed at 5'10" 165 lbs. That is unarguably small. For Johnson, though, there is a recent trend of slighter wide receivers succeeding at the next level, especially those that possess strong route running ability and explosiveness after the catch.

In recent years alone, DeVonta Smith (6'0" 170 lbs), Tank Dell (5'10" 165 lbs), and Jordan Addison (5'11" 175 lbs) have all proven to be valuable assets at the next level while having similar builds to Johnson.

Dell, in particular, dramatically helped his draft stock by showcasing his unbelievable route running ability at the 2023 Senior Bowl, something that Johnson will have the same opportunity to do.

Johnson is currently dealing with a shoulder injury, but is expected to be healthy in time for a College Football Playoffs run. Johnson is also a terrific punt returner, adding to his potential NFL value.

The Ducks' leading wide receiver and single-season receptions record-holder with last year's 86 catches, Johnson will be primed for a huge opportunity to help solidify solid NFL draft capital with his performance on the field and the interviews with NFL teams that he'll be able to participate in. His experience, leadership, and professionalism will go a long way down in Mobile.
