After a career day in the Oklahoma Sooners' loss to Missouri on Saturday, linebacker Danny Stutsman became one of the most productive linebackers in Oklahoma history.

Thanks to a career-high 17-tackle performance against the Tigers, Stutsman officially moved into tenth all-time in Sooners history for tackles.

Stutsman passed Kevin Murphy, who had 353 tackles from 1981-85.

Right in front of Stutsman is Rick Bryan, who had 365 tackles. Stutsman is officially sitting at 363 career tackles and feels almost certain to break Rick Bryan's record for ninth place in their next game.

With 18 tackles in his next two games, Stutsman will move into eighth all-time in Sooners' history for tackles, just behind the legendary Brian Bosworth.

Stutsman would also need five more tackles for loss to break into the Sooners' top ten in that category as well, joining other historic linebackers like Rocky Calmus and Teddy Lehman.

It's no surprise that Stutsman will finish his career as one of the best in school history. He has been the heartbeat of this Oklahoma Sooners' team for years now, and it's his presence, leadership, and play that has sparked Oklahoma's defensive turnaround under Brent Venables.

Stutsman has been a leader on and off the field and will be a hot name among the top linebackers in the 2025 NFL Draft. He has become a beloved Sooner who is adored by fans and will assuredly be remembered fondly for years and years later. Oklahoma is talented at linebacker but will miss his presence next season and beyond.

This is a well-deserved achievement for a special player.

Here are the top ten in total tackles in Sooners' history:

  1. Daryl Hunt (1975-78): 530
  2. Jackie Shipp (1980-83): 489
  3. Travis Lewis (2008-11): 446
  4. George Cumby (1975-79): 437
  5. Rocky Calmus (1998-01): 431
  6. Rod Shoate (1972-74): 426
  7. Brian Bosworth (1984-86): 413
  8. Tyrell Peters (1993-96): 380
  9. Rick Bryan (1980-83): 365
