The Senior Bowl, one of the premier pre-NFL Draft opportunities for players to showcase themselves each year, released their preseason watch list. On it is a whole bunch of players. Notably, since a ruling was passed last November to allow underclassmen that have declared for the NFL Draft to participate in these showcase events, this year's watchlist includes a small percentage of underclassmen that have massive draft potential.
For Oregon, they are one of the most represented teams on the list, with a whole smattering of players all over the field getting the nod.
Oregon Ducks have 17 players on the Senior Bowl preseason watchlist
The Ducks are getting a lot of love from the Senior Bowl scouting department, putting 17 players from Oregon on their preseason watchlist. Here are the names:
Offense
- Dillon Gabriel, QB
- Tez Johnson, WR
- Evan Stewart, WR
- Traeshon Holden, WR
- Jordan James, RB
- Noah Whittington, RB
- Terrance Ferguson, TE
- Josh Conerly Jr., OL
- Ajani Cornelius, OL
So, basically, the entire offense. Dillon Gabriel leads the way at quarterback, as he's currently the Heisman favorite and is expected to put up a massive year as the successor to Bo Nix, who was at the Senior Bowl before this year's NFL Draft. All three of Gabriel's starting wide receivers, his starting tight end, and his starting running back are on the list, as are his bookend of offensive tackles.
The Senior Bowl staff basically just looked at Oregon's starting offense and went "yeah we like all of them."
Defense
- Jeffrey Bassa, LB
- Jestin Jacobs, LB
- Jordan Burch, DL
- Jamaree Caldwell, DL
- Derrick Harmon, DL
- Jabbar Muhammad, DB
- Kam Alexander, DB
- Tysheem Johnson, DB
The defensive side of the ball is also well-represented. Jeffrey Bassa and Jestin Jacobs will form a great duo at Money linebacker and Mike linebacker this season, and Jordan Burch is expected to take a massive step forward as the team's leading pass rusher. Jabbar Muhammad, a transfer portal addition from the rival Washington Huskies, will be the team's top corner and is primed for a massive season.
It's a long season and a lot can change, but before the lights turn on, there are plenty of eyes on Oregon's players leading to next year's NFL Draft.
