Sometimes a fresh start is just what you need and that may be coming for a former Ohio State star.

Justin Fields' first three seasons in the NFL have featured up and down play and not much winning with the Chicago Bears. The team is now at a crossroads with the option to take QB Caleb Williams with the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft come April.

When and if that selection happens, Fields’ time in Chicago is as good as done. Even if he wasn’t the lone problem in Chicago, a fresh start looks to be coming. One team is already heating up to be the landing spot.

According to multiple reports, the Pittsburgh Steelers are the favorite to land the former first-round pick. Mike Tomlin and others around the Steelers have been said to be fans of what Fields can do.

Since entering the NFL, Fields has 2,220 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. In 2023, Fields had his best passing season with 2,562 yards and 16 touchdowns to nine interceptions. The former Buckeyes quarterback completed 61 percent of his passes and played in 13 games.

The late Dwayne Haskins Jr. was the last Ohio State quarterback to play for the Steelers in 2021.

We’ll see if and when a new landing spot comes about for Fields, one would expect that it could happen in March or April. Don’t be surprised if Fields is playing less than three hours from Columbus soon.
