The Tennessee Titans are keeping their quarterback a guessing game.
Titans head coach Mike Vrabel told reporters on Tuesday that if Ryan Tannehill can't play due to his ankle injury, then both backup QBs Malik Willis and Will Levis will see action on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.
That means extra work for the Falcons will have to come up with game plans for facing all three quarterbacks.
This QB strategy comes at an interesting time as the NFL is currently looking into the Falcons for potentially failing to add running back Bijan Robinson to their Week 7 injury report.
Questions arose after the Falcons barely played him in their 16-13 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to an "illness."
Robinson told reporters after the game that he had "feeling completely out of it" Sunday morning. The Falcons should have at least added him the their game status report but they neglected to.
This kind of strategy is said to be used by teams to confuse their opponents, but it's certainly hard to get away with, especially with a high-profile player like Robinson.
Atlanta could be facing a fine if the league's follow-up finds proof.
The difference here is that what Tannehill is doing isn't wrong at any level since he's being upfront about it, though he's definitely trying to confuse his ole pal and former Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.
