Former Georgia Bulldogs star running back Kendall Milton has been putting on a strong NFL preseason performance ahead of roster cut-down day next week.
Milton, who signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as a UDFA following the 2024 NFL Draft, led Philly's backfield with 39 yards rushing yards on 9 carries in Week 1's preseason win over the Baltimore Ravens.
And then in Week 2 of NFL preseason, Milton ran in a touchdown to bring the Eagles back to life, setting them up for a successful two-point conversion to seal the victory over the New England Patriots. He also had one catch for 10 yards.
Milton is far from the fastest running back that the Eagles currently have on their roster, but he is the biggest at 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, which certainly benefits him as a reliable pass blocker and in those short-yardage situations.
Unfortunately for Milton, the Eagles' backfield is stacked with running back talent, including fellow rookie Will Shipley, so he is going to have a tough time landing a spot on the 53-man roster.
But that doesn't mean the Eagles won't sign him to their practice squad.
Even before preseason kicked off, the Eagles already appeared to have plenty of faith in Milton after signing him to one of the highest undrafted free-agent deals that includes a $25,000 signing bonus and a $225,000 guaranteed salary for $250,000 in total guarantees.
Milton will get one more opportunity to showcase his dual-threat abilities and give the Eagles another reason to keep him around when they face the Minnesota Vikings at the Linc on Saturday, Aug. 24.
