Georgia football quarterback Carson Beck isn't the only Bulldog creating early Heisman buzz.
SEC Network’s “SEC Now” host Greg McElroy believes wide receiver Dillon Bell could end up being a dark horse Heisman candidate.
"I would go with someone who can impact the game in a bunch of different ways." McElroy said (h/t Sports Illustrated's Christian Kirby II). "I would go with Dillon Bell from Georgia."
With Beck's original top three targets, Brock Bowers, Ladd McConkey, and Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, all onto bigger and better things at the NFL level, Bell is expected to carry a much larger workload.
Fans caught a glimpse of what Bell was capable of during the 2023 season when he reeled in 29 passes for 355 yards and two touchdowns, adding another 25 carries for 157 yards and two scores on the ground.
Bell really put on a show toward the end of last fall when Georgia throttled the Volunteers and he hauled in an impressive five receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown. We also can't forget the touchdown he threw to Rosemy-Jacksaint during that game.
Bell capped off the season with another solid performance at the Orange Bowl where he hauled in five receptions for 86 yards in Georgia's 63-3 win over Florida State.
If last year was any indication of what's to come for Bell in 2024, then he could easily end up joining Beck in the Heisman race.
