The LSU Tigers are one of four schools that are still in the mix for 2026 four-star quarterback Jonas Williams.

LSU, Alabama, Ohio State, and Oregon were included in Williams' top four schools this week.

Williams, 6-foot-3/185 lbs from New Lenox, IL, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 8 quarterback in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of Illinois. He's also rated as the No. 96 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

There's no doubt that LSU head coach Brian Kelly's recruiting connections in the midwest from his time at Notre Dame have helped the Tigers in this battle.

There's also the fact that LSU has a strong reputation for developing quarterbacks, which is attractive to Williams.

“LSU develops quarterbacks," said Williams to On3's Chad Simmons this week. "It is a top-tier school where I would be around great players every day. If I went to LSU, I would be challenged. I like the staff, how they are hard on players and LSU puts you in that environment that would be great for me to develop in.”

LSU currently has two players committed to its 2026 recruiting class
