QB Will Griffin Commits to Florida Gators

Ranked as the 104th overall player and eighth QB on composite boards, Griffin's an impressive young talent. He told On3's Hayes Fawcett of his decision, and this is a significant shake-up for the class. Only Jared Curtis (Georgia) and Landon Duckworth (South Carolina) have made their decisions known as players passers ranked ahead of Griffin.

Ryan O'Hara has been credited as Griffin's main recruiter and was also responsible for nabbing DJ Lagway. If all goes well in Gainesville, Griffin will be Lagway's natural heir in the future. Griffin has 7,552 yards and 89 touchdowns through two high school seasons.

Right now, only North Carolina's Faizon Brandon has earned a 5-star rating in the 2026 QB class. But there is a bevy of 4-stars looking to increase their stock. We'll see this fall if Griffin can continue his ascent, and how teams like Florida State, Ohio State, and Michigan recover.

2026 QB Recruiting Class

There are 15 4-star QBs on the composite boards, and only four have solid commits. We mentioned three already, and Notre Dame recently nabbed Noah Grubbs from Florida. Considering that Ohio State has No. 2 overall prospect Tavien St. Clair coming in 2025 and already has Air Noland and Julian Sayin on the roster, it's hard to imagine they'll be highly involved in the 2026 class.

But Michigan and Florida State are on the search. The Wolverines' best QB in 2025 is 3-star Carter Smith. Florida State has 3-star Tramell Jones coming. Neither projects as a high-end starter in college football.
