LSU is well-known for producing high quality talent that the Tigers place into the NFL year in and year out. 2024 will be no different, as the team features a number of notable players bound for success at the next level.

One of them is tight end Mason Taylor, who offensive coordinator Joe Sloan has referred to as one of the nation's best.

“Mason Taylor is one of our best football players," Sloan said during a spring practice meeting with the media. "LSU fans have known him and we are finding ways to get him the football. I think he is one of the best tight ends in the country. We wanted to grow that room when I first got there and we are right there.”

Taylor finished out the 2023 season with 36 receptions for 348 yards and 1 touchdown over 12 games, averaging 9,7 yards per reception. That followed up up a 2022 season in which he recorded 38 catches for 414 yards and 3 touchdowns, averaging 10.9 yards per catch.

He isn't the only player in the tight ends room who has stood out, though. LSU enters the 2024 season with one of the best rooms in the nation at the position as one of the country's best as a whole.

Other standouts include Ka'Morreun Pimpton, Mac Markway and Trey'Dez Green, all prospects who will help contribute to the passing game with "gunslinger" quarterback Garrett Nussmeier set to assume the reins after the departure of Jayden Daniels to the 2024 NFL Draft.

It will be interesting to see how things develop within the LSU offense as the Tigers look to build upon last season's 10-3 overall record in the midst of a wide-open SEC.

The Georgia Bulldogs enter the year projected largely as the best team in both the SEC and college football, but recent history has proven that anything can happen and the spots behind Kirby Smart's team in the rankings are anyone's guess in 2024.,
