While the Michigan Wolverines are looking ahead to their Week 1 matchup against the New Mexico Lobos, the rest of the college football world is already moving forward from that matchup and is instead focusing on their Week 2 matchup against the Oklahoma Sooners.

This matchup between two of college football’s greatest all-time blue bloods, with plenty of expectations for both, has been one that fans have circled for months. Now, it’s getting primetime treatment according to a recent announcement.

College Gameday Heads To Norman

According to Kirk Herbstreit, the Wolverines’ matchup against the Oklahoma Sooners will be the location featured on College Gameday for Week 2 of the 2025 college football season.

This game was already going to be a monumental game for both sides before this announcement, but now the pressure mounts even further. The eyes of college football will be all over this game now, and it will be up to both squads to rise and meet that pressure.

This will be a huge test for freshman Bryce Underwood. Traveling to Norman is already a difficult place to play, made even harder with Oklahoma’s resurgent defense, but now the stakes have grown even higher. No matter how much players say they don’t feel the noise, they do, and Underwood will certainly be feeling the eyes and the pressure that sort of attention brings. This is a good learning experience for him moving forward.

Michigan’s matchup against Oklahoma will be broadcast on ABC, with kickoff set for 7:30 PM ET. This critical showdown will be a crossroads for both of these programs who are aiming to rebuild and get back into the college football playoff conversations. Who comes out on top will be a true battle.
