A former Georgia Bulldogs running back called out UGA fans this week following the program’s 44-41 overtime win against the Tennessee Vols.
While hosting The Players’ Lounge this week, former Georgia running back Jacob Hardie questioned the support that Bulldogs quarterback Gunner Stockton is receiving from UGA fans.
“An aspect we got to point out, which, fans have kind of been, in my opinion, not as supportive as they should be on 14 (Stockton),” said Hardie. “And I’ve been saying all season, 14 for Heisman, 14 for president, 14 for governor, 14 for everything if we can.”
Georgia QB Gunner Stockton got off to a slow start, but he’s cooking now
There was definitely some noise flying around about Stockton — from Georgia fans and college football fans in general — before the game against Tennessee.
Stockton got off to a bit of a slow start against Marshall and Austin Peay, but he was at his best in a big game against the Volunteers.
The former four-star recruit passed for 304 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions in the win against Tennessee.
Stockton’s throw on the game-tying touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter was as good of a throw as you’ll see all season.
Fans in Athens definitely need to be on board with Stockton. He’s only going to get better from here.
