Former Georgia star Jordan Davis saves the Eagles with wild last-second TD run in final seconds of Week 3 game vs Rams
MVP.
Former Georgia Bulldogs star defender Jordan Davis was, without a doubt, the Philadelphia Eagles’ MVP in Sunday’s 33-26 win over the Los Angeles Rams.
The Rams had a chance to win the game with a last-second field goal while trailing by one, but Davis blocked the kick, scooped up the ball, and returned it for a touchdown.
It gets even crazier when you realize that, according to NextGen Stats, the 330-pound Davis hit a top speed of 18.59 mph, making him the fastest player of that size to reach such a speed since 2017.
“Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis, who blocked a potential game-winning field goal and returned it for a touchdown as time expired, reached a top speed of 18.59 mph on the return, the fastest speed by a player over 330 pounds since at least 2017,” per NexGen on X/Twitter
Davis finished the game logging five tackles, one sack, a tackle for loss, a quarterback hit, two blocked field goals and a touchdown to help the Eagles to a 3-0 record on the 2025 season so far.
Jordan Davis’ Offseason Transformation Has Clearly Paid Off
Davis, a former first-round pick by the Birds, entered this fall on a mission after slimming down and shedding 26 pounds (356lbs to 330lbs) this past spring.
He told reporters once they spotted his noticable transformation at NFL training camp that he felt same, just a lot quicker.
“I’m still that Jordan Davis,” Davis said. “I’m still gonna be that anchor. I’m still gonna be that same player. But knowing that with this new weight, I can do a lot more. I can move a lot more on passing reps. I’m gonna be expected to add that. And that’s just what’s been communicated with me from the top down. And honestly, I’m here for it. I’m ready for it. I’m just ready to go.”
And so far, he’s backed up his words with some exciting action.
