Mike Elko and Texas A&M Aggies win big on their bye week, as they steal special four-star recruit from SEC rivals
Kamarui Dorsey joins long list of blue chip recruits wanting in on the Texas A&M party as Aggies keep winning even on their bye week
The Texas A&M Aggies have been on fire, on and off the field, for this entire college football season. Mike Elko and his incredible staff have the Aggies 8-0 on their bye week as they’re well on their way to the College Football Playoff. Now, they’re even winning without playing games as the Aggies continue to land big-time recruits.
Since August, the Aggies have stacked their 2026 recruiting class, but this time, it’s a special 2027 recruit on the defense. Kamarui Dorsey, a high four-star recruit from the state of Georgia, committed to Texas A&M on Saturday, choosing the Aggies over a handful of SEC rivals.
Texas A&M Recruiting Stats for 2026 and 2027
- Four-star safety recruit Kamarui Dorsey becomes the fifth commit to Texas A&M in their 2027 class, which is now ranked fifth in the nation
- Mike Elko already has 26 high school players committed for their 2026 recruiting class, which ranks sixth in the nation
- 26 of the 31 recruits committed to Texas A&M in 2026 and 2027 are four or five-star talents, giving the Aggies a blue chip ratio of 84% for those two classes as November begins

For those unfamiliar with Dorsey, he’s a tall, long, athletic safety prospect who can win playing most any back-seven defensive position. Standing at 6-3, 200+ pounds, Dorsey is already built like a veteran SEC safety with range to do anything Elko’s defense will ask of him.
Texas A&M actually joined the busy fray of high pedigree programs chasing Dorsey a little late, only offering him in May, but after seeing the wild success of the Aggies this fall and visiting with the team in October, that was apparently enough to tip the scales. Dorsey chose the Aggies over Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Ohio State, and many other top programs in the country.
Dorsey becomes the fifth high-pedigree recruit to commit to the Aggies in their 2027 class, and the 26th blue-chip recruit among Elko’s 2026 and 2027 classes combined. The Aggies already have their next Marcel Reed committed in 2027 with Jayce Johnson, and their future at offensive tackle in DeMarrion Johnson. Dorsey helps stack the defensive side of the ball, as Texas A&M’s 2027 recruiting class begins to take shape.
If Elko and the Aggies keep dominating this fall, Texas A&M fans can likely expect some continual momentum on the recruiting front. And of course, if the wins keep coming in recruiting, an already unbelievably talented roster could perhaps become the best in the nation very soon.
