The Florida State Seminoles finally got back on the winning side of the ledger on Saturday, as they blew out the Wake Forest Demon Deacons 42-7. The win ended a four-game losing streak and was the program’s first ACC win since a 14-9 win over Cal back in September 2024.

The strong performance on the field came at the right time, as Florida State had a few recruits decommit from the program recently. However, one notable commitment was in attendance, and the performance and atmosphere helped firm up his commitment despite some SEC programs making a push for him.

Four-star Douglasville, GA WR Devin Carter reaffirmed his commitment to FSU after the Wake Forest win

Carter is a four-star recruit in the 2026 cycle. He ranks as the On3/Rivals #148 industry ranked player, the #20 wide receiver, and the #18 player in the state of Georgia. He holds offers from Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Florida, Auburn, USC, Oregon, Texas A&M, Michigan, LSU, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and many others.

The 6’0″, 168-pound wideout mentioned a pair of schools to On3/Warchant that have been pushing hard to try to flip his commitment: Oklahoma and Mississippi State. However, he says that his pledge to FSU is firm and that he will be back home for the Seminoles’ final home game of the year against Virginia Tech on November 15.

It’s been a tough season for Florida State after a promising start, but at least it appears one of the building blocks for the program’s future will remain in place as Seminole fans look to better years ahead in 2026 and beyond.
