Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin is arguably the biggest prize in this year’s coaching carousel.

The Florida Gators and the LSU Tigers, along with several other schools with openings, would love to have Kiffin leading their program.

Ole Miss, meanwhile, is obviously hoping Kiffin, who is in his sixth season leading the program, will stick around in Oxford.

Knox Kiffin drops quote about his dad, Lane Kiffin’s job status amid coaching rumors that every college football fan needs to hear

2028 quarterback recruit Knox Kiffin, the son of Lane, spoke to On3 about his recruitment this week and dropped a quote about his dad’s job status amid the coaching rumors that every college football fan should hear.

Knox noted that it’s a little “annoying” to get constantly asked whether Lane is leaving Ole Miss. He also pointed out that he doesn’t think Lane is worried about any of the job stuff until after the season.

“It’s definitely a little bit annoying, but I understand, they want to know,” said Knox Kiffin. “I don’t know anything about it, and I don’t think he’s really worried about anything. He’s just trying to go to the playoffs.”

“I don’t think he’s worried about any of that until after the season,” added Knox.

Everyone is speculating and making predictions about what Lane will do, but I don’t think he’s given it much thought yet.

Lane currently has Ole Miss in a strong position to make a run in the College Football Playoff. And I truly believe that guiding his team to a national championship is his top priority right now.

After the way the Rebels’ season ended (1-5 in the final six games) in 2022 amid rumors that Lane was leaving for Auburn, I don’t think we’ll see the former Tennessee and FAU head coach allow coaching rumors to derail the Ole Miss season for a second time.
