The Ohio State Buckeyes being 10-0 this season is even more impressive when you factor in everything they lost from last year’s team. Ohio State had 14 players drafted in April and replaced both coordinators. It has made that transition look effortless, and it’s been a treat to watch from the nation’s No. 1 team.

Ohio State still has a loaded roster, and it will need to do more reloading after this season. The Buckeyes have several players who are expected to go early in the NFL Draft. With the regular season nearing its end, players will have to make decisions about their futures soon.

The Buckeyes may get their starting center back next season

Carson Hinzman has been a steady presence on Ohio State’s offensive line this season, and he was a key part of winning it all last year. When Seth McLaughlin went down with an injury before the Michigan game, Hinzman slid from guard to center, and the Buckeyes didn’t miss a beat. The redshirt junior revealed on Wednesday that he won’t go through senior day festivities on Saturday against Rutgers because he hasn’t made up his mind about staying or leaving.

“Obviously, there’s a lot of great talent that is going to be going to the league this year in my position, so that’s something to take into consideration,” Hinzman said. “But yeah, we’ll see.”

Hinzman has already graduated but has another year of eligibility remaining if he chooses to use it. The Wisconsin native has made 31 career starts to this point, and the Buckeyes trust him up front in a big way. Hinzman is the only starter along the offensive line who isn’t from Ohio.

“We’ve never really done anything with this team yet in any aspect,” Hinzman said. “We don’t have any hardware. We haven’t done anything besides the turtle (Illibuck). But just having that edge about us, wanting to go and prove something for ourselves, is big for us.”
