The Oklahoma Sooners were blessed by the College Football Playoff Committee. Not only do they get to host a playoff game at home in Norman, Oklahoma, but they also get to play the Alabama Crimson Tide, whom they have already beaten.

This game is going to have some Fireworks, just like it did the last time they met, and the time before that in 2024, when a bad OU team won at home. Alabama is coming off an SEC Championship Game loss to the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday. In that game, Alabama looked terrible. Oklahoma has the chance to do the same. But when do they play? Well, the schedule is already out, and Oklahoma is scheduled to host the game on Friday, December 19, at 7 p.m. CT, on ESPN.

All Oklahoma fans who can make it need to show up. They will need as good a home-field advantage as you can get.

Oklahoma has the chance to win its first CFP game in Brent Venables’ fourth season

Alabama is still a good football team, despite the loss to Georgia. The committee did not punish them for that loss, since it was a conference championship game. However, they are punished for playing in it.

Alabama is beaten up and has now had to play an extra game that Oklahoma has not yet had to play. That’s a huge advantage for OU. To make it even better, Oklahoma will be coming off two weeks of rest, while Alabama will have only one week. This allows Oklahoma to get as healthy as possible.

You can also argue that having that much time off is bad. However, we all know Venables will have his team ready for Alabama. Hosting is huge, especially in a sport with such a large home-field advantage. The Sooners are going to be ready, and now you are too.
