The Texas A&M Aggies should have some great news coming their way right after playing Miami on Saturday
The Texas A&M Aggies could be on the verge of receiving some big recruiting news.
The Texas A&M Aggies could have some great news coming their way right after playing the Miami Hurricanes in the first round of the College Football Playoff on Saturday.
And the good news has nothing to do with the outcome of Texas A&M’s matchup against Miami.
Texas A&M is poised to land a 2027 four-star recruit
2027 four-star defensive lineman Myels Smith is set to announce his commitment on Saturday at 2:30 PM CT.
Smith’s final six schools are Arizona State, Cal, Nebraska, Texas A&M, USC, and Washington.
On3’s Greg Biggins predicts that Texas A&M will be the pick for Smith.
“All the signs are pointing to the Aggies right now and that’s where our prediction is currently sitting,” wrote Biggins this week. “Smith is a true nose guard who could also play some defensive tackle in a 4-3 front. He’s big, quick and active and currently rated the No. 300 player nationally in the Rivals Industry Ranking but No. 31 by Rivals.com.”
Smith, 6-foot-3/295 pounds from Los Angeles, CA, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 16 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 14 player in the state of California.
The four-star defensive lineman took an unofficial visit to Texas A&M last month for the Aggies’ come-from-behind win over the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Texas A&M currently has eight players committed to its 2027 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 2 in the nation.
