The LSU Tigers are one of several programs in the mix for 2028 four-star wide receiver Tre Moore.

Moore, 6-foot-3/200 pounds from Pflugerville, TX, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 19 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 18 player in the state of Texas. He’s also rated as the No. 149 overall player in the 2028 recruiting class.

Miami, Texas, Texas A&M, and Washington, among others, are also in the mix for Moore.

Tre Moore drops strong quote about LSU’s Lane Kiffin

Moore recently spoke to 247Sports about his recruitment and he mentioned that it’s surprising how much Kiffin actually knows about football.

“Lane Kiffin, he’s a great offensive mind,” said Moore to 247Sports. “His scheme and everything is perfect, and even when their offensive coordinator came down, he’s like a football nerd. You wouldn’t think he knows football, but when he breaks it down, he’s writing down all of the plays and you can just see what he’s thinking.”

It’s certainly easy to be distracted by Kiffin’s tweets and polarizing personality, but there’s no doubt that he’s one of the top offensive minds in football (and he has been for a long time).

Moore’s quote, however, is evidence that many recruits are more familiar with Kiffin’s big personality than his offensive acumen.

Kiffin may want to work on his messaging a bit if that’s the case.

Moore, by the way, plans to visit LSU for the first time this spring.
