Let’s say the 2025 season was one to forget for Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams. After bursting onto the scene as a 17-year-old true freshman, Coleman-Williams had a regression in 2025, with his most notable stat being an FBS-leading drop rate and 13 dropped passes over the course of the season.

On top of that, there were a lot of questions about what Williams had going on outside of football. “Distractions” was a word used a lot around Tuscaloosa in 2025, but if you saw some of the leaked footage from spring ball, you know that Coleman-Williams looks to be back to his old ways. He’s stayed in Tuscaloosa throughout the offseason, and when you listen to him about his health, you see a big season brewing for Coleman-Williams.

Ryan Coleman-Williams says he will be whole again in 2026

“It’s no excuse. It’s football. You gotta battle through those things, but the hardest part is what it does to you mentally,” Coleman-Williams told On3 when asked about being banged up in 2025. “That’s where I struggled the most, but you look back now, and what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. When I’m out there now running and working out, I’m like, Yeah, this is what it’s supposed to feel like. Physically and mentally, I’m in a lot better place. You’re going to see me whole again.”

  • 49 receptions.
  • 689 receiving yards.
  • 4 touchdowns.

Everything you hear from people around the program at Alabama is that Ryan Williams will be back in 2026. It takes more than just talk to elicit optimism in Alabama fans, but the evidence was there in the spring, and Coleman-Williams’ teammates know that he’s on track for a huge junior season.

“He never lost any speed. If anything, he’s faster and harder to get down when he gets any kind of space between you,” Alabama CB Zabien Brown added. “It’s like, ‘He’s there, and then he’s not.’ What you saw when he was lighting it up as a freshman is who he is. Get ready to see that version of him again this season.”
