Oklahoma Sooners recruit they are pushing for the hardest just kept it all the way real before his official visit this weekend
The Oklahoma Sooners are set to host a few recruits for visits this weekend, and they always nail those visits.
The Oklahoma Sooners are now being projected to land elite four-star safety Bode Sparrow. This is a player they have been pushing hard for for some time. Sparrow is the No. 1 player in Utah and the No. 2 safety in the country. And now, he’s just finished an official visit with the Sooners on May 29.
Entering the visit, he kept it all the way real about how important it was to him.
“I mean, this is a huge visit,” Sparrow told 247 Sports. “I have great relationships with the whole staff… I’ve gotten to know a lot of the commits, too, and I’m excited to see them as well.”
This was one of the more important visits on the Sooners’ calendar, too. Sparrow can be an elite college football player. He has all the tools to be exactly what Brent Venables needs in his defense.
Bode Sparrow can only make the Sooners’ No. 1 class even better
If OU were to land Sparrow, a top-60 player in the country, it would only help their No. 1 recruiting class get even better. Currently, it appears they will battle Texas A&M for the best class by year’s end. And if they get Sparrow, they’re getting one of the best defensive players in the country.
The 6’2, 200-pound safety can play in the box or cover. He has elite traits and tools, like the ability to even line up in the slot a bit. Sparrow is great in the run game with his outside angles and blitz IQ. There is a really good chance that Sparrow only improves his composite ranking this next season.
The prediction is made by National Recruiting Reporter Adam Gorney, who currently rates it at 70% confidence. OU only has one safety committed in the current 2027 recruiting class. Landing Sparrow would have the class with an absolutely loaded secondary.
