Ohio State football just watched Tennessee make a move with five-star RB David Gabriel Georges that they couldn’t make

The Ohio State Buckeyes’ biggest target is David Gabriel Georges without a doubt. A week after his visit to Columbus, he’s now in Tennessee and the Volunteers are clearly doing all they can to get his full attention.

Ohio State’s top target Baylor School (TN) five-star RB David Gabriel Georges is taking an official visit to Tennessee this weekend in Knoxville.

The Buckeyes hosted Gabriel Georges last weekend for an official visit and signs are that it went as well as it could have.

Tennessee is getting its chance to roll out the red carpet for the talented running back this weekend, and that’s just what they’re doing.

Tennessee brings in NFL star on David Gabriel Georges official visit

It’s not uncommon for schools to bring their own alum in for certain visitors. Tennessee just so happened to bring an NFL player that Gabriel Georges looks up to, who plays the same position. The Vols had New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara on campus Friday night, which looks like an attempt to sell Gabriel Georges on becoming a Vol.

This is a big deal because there was a time a couple of years ago when Gabriel Georges missed seeing Kamara at Tennessee.

“I’m watching highlights from running backs like Alvin Kamara,” said Gabriel Georges to GoVols247 in 2024. “I’m a big fan of him. And that’s why I was, like, mad when he came up to the Alabama game. I was mad because I didn’t go.”

Of course, the Buckeyes have running backs in the NFL like JK Dobbins, Quinshon Judkins, and TreVeyon Henderson. Ezekiel Elliott put up one of the best running back careers we’ve seen in the last decade in the NFL. The thing with Kamara is that he’s noted to be someone Gabriel Georges wanted to meet. It’s an interesting tactic by the Vols.

Ohio State and Tennessee are the two schools battling it out for David Gabriel Georges

The five-star running back is set to visit Ole Miss and Georgia the next two weekends following his trip to Tennessee. However, just about everyone sees this as a race between the Buckeyes and Vols. The Buckeyes are believed to be the leaders entering the Tennessee visit, but anything can change at any given time.

Ohio State and running backs coach Carlos Locklyn are swinging for the fences with Gabriel Georges. Ohio State has been clear for well over a year that the 6-foot, 215-pound running back is their top target.

“They really want me to be a Buckeye,” Gabriel Georges said via Rivals after the visit. “Not only do they want to develop me as a football player, but also as a man. Coach (Locklyn) told me that when he first offered me when I was in Canada, he saw that I could be a great athlete.”
