One Sooners player is the most recent victim of CFB 27’s recent hilarious moments at launch, but this one’s much different
The Oklahoma Sooners defensive lineman Trent Wilson is one of the more recent examples of CFB27’s mishaps.
The Oklahoma Sooners are probably going to be one of the more fun teams to play with in the new College Football 27 video game. CFB27 just came out, though, and there have already been a few new memes to laugh out. Whether it’s EA Sports making a real player look completely different or introducing new features, the game has everyone talking.
The most recent victim of these memes is one Sooners player. Defensive lineman Trent Wilson got a taste of what it’s like to be a CFB meme. This time, the game told him he got broken up with.
A pop-up message in Wilson’s Dynasty save claimed his girlfriend had broken up with him. He snapped a photo of the screen, posted it on Instagram, tagged EA, and joked, “When did I say this?” What are the chances that, out of everyone in Dynasty, it happened to the real Trent Wilson?
The odds are hilariously low, yet it still happened. And surely there will be plenty more situations like this one. But for now, the Sooners need to remain focused on the task at hand. It’s important they use this time to recover. They need to spend time relaxing and playing the video game. But soon, it’s time for football to start, and this is a huge season for the Sooners.
In 2026 the Sooners are expected to compete for a National Championship
Oklahoma is supposed to contend in 2026. The talent is there across the roster, and the expectations reflect that. But contending teams need players who take the next step, guys who go from rotational pieces or unproven recruits to reliable contributors who change games. The Sooners need to see that this year.
Last year, Oklahoma made the College Football Playoff and nearly won the first game. They did that with one of the worst offenses in football and a beaten-up QB. They also had the best defense in football. Imagine if it all comes together. That’s the expectation for the Sooners. That, and they should be able to at least compete for a National Championship.
