The Ohio State Buckeyes hosted an important official visitor during their Week 3 game against Kent State, and the early returns suggest the trip went well. 

Princeton running back Jordan Hall made his second trip to Columbus, this time for an official visit, and Ohio State appears to be trending toward landing commitment No. 20 in the class of 2027.

Ohio State needs a running back after missing on David Gabriel Georges

Ohio State missed out on running back David Gabriel Georges this summer when the five-star back chose Tennessee. That loss left the Buckeyes without a running back commitment in the 2027 class, a void they’ve been looking to fill.

The Buckeyes aren’t going to find a player with the same level of talent Gabriel Georges brings, but they still need to add a body at the position. It’s looking more and more like an in-state prospect could be the answer.

Jordan Hall’s official visit goes well to Ohio State

Hall received his official offer from Ohio State on Sept. 5 and wasted little time getting back to campus. The 5-foot-10, 205-pound back is ranked as the No. 848 player in the class of 2027, according to 247Sports composite rankings. He’s a late riser whose early senior film has the eye of the Ohio State coaching staff, and that’s why they want to get him into the fold.

Following the visit, Hall made it clear how he felt about the experience.

“My OV to Ohio State was phenomenal, can’t say there was anything I didn’t like,” Hall said, via Rivals.

Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong has predicted Hall to pick the Buckeyes over other schools like Maryland, Penn State, Louisville, and Miami (Ohio), the program he decommitted from earlier in the process.

It sure sounds like Ohio State is trending toward picking up another commitment and once again bringing in a top-10 class under coach Ryan Day. Time will tell if Hall pulls the trigger, but the Buckeyes appear to be in strong position after a visit that left little to be desired.
