Former Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops predicts who will win SEC Championship game showdown between Alabama and Georgia
The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs will meet in Atlanta this weekend in the SEC Championship game.
The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs will face off in the SEC Championship game in Atlanta on Saturday.
Both programs are in the College Football Playoff’s 12-team bracket, but it’s unclear how the game’s result will affect seeding.
Georgia, which has just one loss, should be locked into a spot regardless of the outcome.
The same may not be true for Alabama, which has two losses. It’s possible that an Alabama loss could knock the Crimson Tide out of the top 12.
Georgia is 1-10 in its last 11 matchups against Alabama.

Former Oklahoma Sooners head coach Bob Stoops made his pick for this weekend’s matchup between Alabama and Georgia, and he has the Bulldogs coming out on top.
“I really watched [Georgia] this past week against Georgia Tech,” said Stoops. “Really impressed with them. Their quarterback (Gunner Stockton) makes a bunch of plays, and he’s a younger guy, I think. But man, he’s a really heady, good ball player. He’s fearless running the ball. I’m like, this guy’s going to get hurt — they don’t seem to care. He’s running through people. And defensively, the job Kirby Smart [does] is always really great. So anyway, it’s hard to beat Georgia. I will go with Georgia.”
Georgia and Alabama will kick off at 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
