Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers were trending to receive some good recruiting news, but that appears to no longer be the case after a new report surfaced on Monday.

In early March, On3’s Steve Wiltfong, Adam Gorney, Sam Spiegelman, and Chad Simmons all predicted that LSU would land 2027 five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson.

Dobson, 6-foot-1/185 pounds from Cornelius, NC, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 3 cornerback in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina. He’s also rated as the No. 11 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.

On Monday, Wiltfong flipped his prediction for Dobson from LSU to Texas A&M.

“Last week I wrote that I was close to predicting the Aggies for five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson,” noted Wiltfong. “After talking to Dobson at the end of last week, I feel even stronger about Texas A&M’s position. With that I’ve flipped my pick from LSU. Dobson has been to College Station several times including a couple trips in the spring. His camp tells Rivals that conversations have intensified as of late.”

Michigan, Auburn, and South Carolina are also in the mix for Dobson.

I’m sure Kiffin and the Tigers will keep swinging at the five-star cornerback, but it sounds like Dobson and the Aggies are pretty far down the road.
