Michigan Wolverines QB Bryce Underwood now has to be completely regretting what he did before his poor Week 1 performance
The Michigan Wolverines nearly lost to Western Michigan, and Bryce Underwood looked terrible just weeks after saying he’s the best ever out of Michigan.
There’s so much controversy going on with the Michigan Wolverines‘ recent win over Western Michigan. Whether you believe there was a second left on the clock or not, you do believe that, no matter what, the Wolverines were supposed to win that game by a landslide.
There’s controversy because the second added to the clock allowed the Wolverines another Hail Mary attempt. That then turned into a touchdown. So, now everyone is focused on thaat. College football fans around the world are calling the game rigged. But, don’t let that distract you from how terrible QB Bryce Underwood was in this game.
With an interception that should have been a pick-six just before the half, things weren’t looking good. He had another interception in the first half that was called back. The Wolverines, ranked No. 16 in the country, were only up 7-6 on Western Michigan in the first half. Underwood finished 12/22, with 170 yards, one touchdown (final play hail Mary) and one interception. He was awful, and to make things even worse, he was just calling himself the best weeks ago.
Bryce Underwood’s video from before the season now has he and Michigan looking worse
“I want to prove to myself that I am what I think I am. … I feel like I’m the best player ever to come out of Michigan,” Underwood said, according to WDIV Local 4’s Brandon Carr.
When asked why, he replied, “Because I worked for it.”
Coming into the game, Underwood spoke about it. He talked about why he believes this year will be different than last year.
“I feel like we’re getting prepared more,” Underwood said of what his new head coach has brought to the program. “We’re more of a player-led team than we were last year. Very player-driven.”
Sure, there’s a new coaching staff, new offense, and new players. However, those things have made this team actually look a bit worse. On offense, they were putrid. The offensive line didn’t push, and Underwood still can’t read a defense, let alone run a decent route. There’s so much wrong, and Underwood has to take some responsibility here.
