Former LSU Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron is a big fan one of the Ohio State Buckeyes’ key players from the 2024 national championship team.
Orgeron joined Pardon My Take this week and he singled out former Ohio State linebacker Jack Sawyer as a player that he loved to watch last season.
“I loved the way they attacked,” said Orgeron of the Buckeyes. “Their defensive line was phenomenal. Who was the big white guy that had a sack fumble (against Texas in the College Football Playoff)?”
“Oh, my god, I love the way that boy played football,” continued Orgeron when reminded of Sawyer’s name. “I mean, they were very, very impressive.”
Sawyer, who was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, certainly had a postseason to remember during the Buckeyes’ championship run. The Ohio native had 4.5 sacks and 6 passes defensed to go along with 13 tackles in Ohio State’s four wins in the College Football Playoff.
Orgeron, at his core, is a defensive line guy who loves to get after the quarterback. It’s certainly no surprise that Sawyer was one of his favorite college football players to watch last season.
