Former Ohio State star Garrett Wilson didn’t hold back on calling himself out after loss to the Steelers

Ohio State is well represented at wide receiver in the NFL, perhaps better than any other college when it comes to that position. A player right near the top of former Buckeyes in the league is New York Jets wideout Garrett Wilson.
Wilson is getting the chance to play with Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback this season and it is a big change from the quarterback play he is used to. Wilson had a decent game in their Monday night loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he hurt the team on one specific turnover.
Rodgers hit Wilson up the left side of the field in the third quarter but the ball bounced off of Wilson and into Steelers’ Beanie Bishop’s hands for the second time in the game. It was a play that Wilson wishes he could have back and one that had him beating himself up over.
“I don’t take it lightly. I feel like that was the reason we lost the game at the end of the day. S*** can’t happen. Terrible plays. It is a combination of me getting bad habits not attacking the ball in the game and all of a sudden … I just gotta fix it,” Wilson said, via Jets Vidoes.
Wilson was second on the team in receiving in the Week 7 loss with five catches for 61 yards. The former Buckeye has 41 catches, 399 yards, and three touchdowns in six games on the season so far.
At Ohio State, Wilson put up 1,058 yards as a junior before being selected No. 10 overall by the Jets in the 2022 NFL Draft.
In each of his first two seasons in the NFL, Wilson has been able to go over 1,000 yards. He is on pace to do that once again in 2024 while possibly putting up career highs as well. The Jets are 2-5 on the season and the interception was costly in Week 7 against the Steelers.
All in all, the Jets lost that game for other reasons past the interception. New York has bigger issues than that one play and they are 2-5 on the season because of it.
