Sooners 2027 commit is still taking other visits, but he’s dropping the hammer and letting everyone know what’s up
The Oklahoma Sooners got a great 2027 recruiting class lined up, and one of the best players in the class is running back Keldrid Ben.
The Oklahoma Sooners have the best class in 2027. They have been on a roll and could land three or four more recruits over the next few months. However, fans may be concerned about one recruit who’s still taking other visits, despite being committed to the Sooners.
Four-star running back Keldrid Ben has been committed for a very long time and was one of the first ones to commit to the class. OU really, really likes him, and he loves OU. However, he is going to other schools, talking to other coaches, and being recruited heavily in ways that could rub some people the wrong way. But his taking other visits isn’t anything fans should be worried about.
“[Things have] been great. God has been blessing me in many ways. [I’m just trying to keep my head on my shoulders, keep my head straight, maintain my grades, and just work,” Ben told Sooner Scoop. “[The visits] are just me taking another look at a school. I don’t see it as me decommitting or anything like that. I see it as me exploring other schools and taking those visits because I only get one chance.
“There’s nothing I really want to see [at Florida or Oregon]. I just want to see them being themselves. They’re showing me how they can make me a better man on and off the field. Providing for my family and me and being the best I can be at all times.”
Ben let’s everyone know that there’s nothing to worry about
Ben has taken six visits since November 29, 2025. But three of them are to Oklahoma, two to Florida, and one to Oregon. The only issue is that Ben has another one set up with Florida in the coming months.
He’s still letting every Sooners fan know exactly what they want to hear.
“I just let them know what’s going on. No lies, no nothing. Just a man-to-man conversation. They tell me how they feel about it, and I just have to accept it. I know where my home is at the end of the day,” Ben said.
Ben is a four-star recruit with the potential to upgrade to a five-star. Other schools will come calling. The Sooners just have to keep doing what they have been doing.
