Lane Kiffin is certainly the Transfer Portal King given that he just locked in his fourth top three transfer recruiting class in a row. However, this 2025 recruiting class proved that he's much more than a transfer specialist.

The Ole Miss 2025 traditional high school recruiting class ranks 16th according to the 247Sports Composite, the highest mark for the Rebels in nearly a decade. When combined with all their talented transfers the Rebels have the 15th highest ranked class in the nation, which is tied for 3rd highest by Ole Miss in modern recruiting history.

High Pedigree 2025 Rebels Recruits

Lane Kiffin's prize prospect of the 2025 recruiting class is most certainly five star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham from southeastern Mississippi. Keeping him away from Alabama and other SEC schools was a huge win, as Cunningham has continually praised Kiffin's drive to keep him with the Rebels.

When asked about the reason he chose Ole Miss over Alabama and other SEC schools Cunningham had this to say recently:

"Ole Miss recruited me hard. When I [originally] committed to Alabama they never gave up. They feel like family. I'm comfortable with them…I love Lane Kiffin's offense. He's the best head coach in college football."

Cunningham should challenge for day one starting snaps given his explosiveness and versatility. But it isn't just Cunningham that made this 2025 recruiting class special. Lane Kiffin and his staff brought in a total of of nine Top 300 recruits in the country.

Devin Harper, a Top 100 offensive line recruit could potentially start in year one, playing an important part in protecting new starting quarterback Austin Simmons. Four star running back Shekai Mills-Knight brings feature back size and verified track speed. Kiffin also brought in three more high pedigree wide receivers with speed in Winston Watkins Jr. (potential early breakout candidate), Samari Reed, and Dillon Alfred.

Then on defense the dynamic duo of top tier cornerback talents in Maison Dunn and Cortez Thomas should compete for third and fourth corner snaps right away. In addition to the strong secondary recruiting Kiffin and company also added some monsters up front with three huge defensive lineman, the most impressive of course being Andrew Maddox, who racked up 100 tackles when he was still just a junior in high school.

It's clear this Ole Miss 2025 recruiting class is built different. And when paired with the talented transfers? The Rebels look like they have the bodies to get to the College Football Playoff here soon.

Talented Transfers Fill Important Roles

Landing both Princewill Umanmielen (brother of Princely) from Nebraska and Da'Shawn Womack (former near five-star from LSU) should help bolster much of the pass rush that the Rebels just sent to the 2025 NFL Draft.

Bringing in a quartet of transfers at wide receiver in De'Zhaun Stribling (Oklahoma State), Harrison Wallace (Penn State), Caleb Odom (Alabama), and Traylon Ray (West Virginia) will give new quarterback Austin Simmons a bevy of options to choose from as his favorite target in 2025. Not to mention Luke Hasz (Arkansas) at tight end, who was the best player at his position this transfer cycle.

Then finally, adding Pierce Clarkson (dual threat QB from Louisville) late with a handful of offensive linemen improved depth for the entire offense. Huge additions across the board.

It looks like Kiffin may have just completely rebuilt the Ole Miss roster in one off-season. We'll see how this group plays together, but the talent is clearly there to potentially post the Rebels' fourth 10+ win season in the last five years.
