Penn State football just landed inside the top-10 for an elite linebacker, and they could be in good shape to steal him from a rival
The Penn State Nittany Lions would love to land a commitment from four-star LB Judah Blair, who’s from Ohio.
The Penn State Nittany Lions are off to a 3-0 start to the season. They’re looking good and trying to build on that momentum. Recruiting should pick up soon, especially in the 2028 recruiting class. They were also recently named to a top-ten list for elite recruit Judah Blair.
Blair recently revealed his top-ten, and Penn State made the cut. The four-star linebacker also had some other big-time programs in there. Blair is from Ohio and is a top-85 recruit in the 2028 recruiting class. Yet Ohio State isn’t in his top ten. Maybe they didn’t push for him hard enough. Whatever it is, Penn State could steal him right in their own backyard. But some favorites have emerged so far.
Judah Blair knows what he is looking for in his recruitment
“NC State has made a very strong impression on me,” he told Rivals. “Me and my linebacker coach are building a strong relationship. I like their linebacker development, and I like that the coaching staff has been there for a while. You know they’re not just going to flake on you when you arrive. I like the atmosphere too.”
Blair is the No. 6 linebacker in the class, and the No. 3 player in the state of Ohio. Right now, NC State, Kentucky, Louisville, Penn State, and Cincinnati seem to be leading the charge. Penn State has to get him on campus soon if they want to start trying to move up that list.
“I need to know the coaching staff is good people outside of being good coaches,” he said about what will factor into his decision. “Education is number one. Then I want production. I don’t want to go somewhere that’s not known for developing linebackers. I want to know I’m going to be taught new things and become a better player.”
Penn State currently has three players committed in their 2028 recruiting class. They have CB Deonte Flemmings, K Carter Petri, and QB James Armstrong.
